First off its an Olympic summer (in case you hadn't noticed). I have been watching every Olympic sport around the clock on my TV or computer since the opening ceremony last Friday. This means I have no time for blogging, LOL. Seriously I become OBSESSED with the Olympics when they're on. Can't get enough! I'm a bit like this chick...I can't contain my excitement or happiness!
I love the Brits w/ their dry sense of humor!
I also can't stop talking about moments like this:
Love it! As you can imagine I'm very backed up on my reading and review writing. I just can't focus. Plus even before the Olympics started I had a bit of reviewers block. All my reviews were sounding very similar. I can do better, so I'm taking a pause from that. While reviewing is a huge part of why I started my book blog it wasn't the only reason. I love just promoting, sharing and talking about books so I hope you'll bare with me in regards to the lack of reviews.
In case your interested I did read 3 books fairly recently: Fathomless (liked it), Monstrous Beauty (love it so much!) and Code Name Verity (starts slow but worth sticking with. It's AMAZING!).
In other news...I'm sure most of you have heard about what's going on at Chick-Fil-A. I have stayed out of it and will continue to do so, but it did get me thinking... How do I want to show my support for the LGBT community? By highlighting a small but important genre of YA books. With lots of encouragement from fellow bloggers who said they'll jump on the chance to participate, I've decided to host a LGBT YA Book Week. I'm still working out the details. I'm not sure exactly what it will consist of or when it will be but if you're interested in taking part please let me know through a comment or email.
Authors, Bloggers and Readers are all welcome to contact me. The more interest I get the bigger it will be!
Now its back to the Olympics for me...Are you watching? If not, what are you reading?

I'm addicted to the Olympics too. I usually read at least 3 books a week, and this week I haven't finished one! I try to read during commercials, but I'm not getting very far!
ReplyDeleteI'm in for LGBT week!

We've been watching the Olympics a lot at work which has been stopping my reading and writing.
ReplyDeleteLove the LGBT week idea. Looking forward to hearing more about it!
The LGBT YA Book Week sounds great! I'm in, too! :)

I'm not into the Olympics much. I like the Winter ones much better. Depending on which month you do it I'll be in on the LGBT week. Be looking forward to hearing what you have planned.

I cried my eyes out when Fab 5 won gold. And then again last night when Aly won her two medals. AHHHH. OLYMPIC FEELS.
ReplyDeleteWe have Olympic fever in this house too :)
