It's Friday and time for another fun question from Ginger @ GReads! Most Valuable Book: From your personal collection of books, which ones hold the most value to you - is it signed by the author? or maybe it's your favorite story of all time? Share it with us.
Shannon's answer:
Who doesn't love and cherish their copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? So I'm sure it's not hard to see why this is my pick. However mine is even more special. My husband bought me this Korean version while he was in there for work. I can't read Korean but that doesn't diminish its keepsake factor at all.
Carrie's answer:
I thought this question was going to be easy until I actually started looking through my shelves. How do I choose between all my lovelies?? Well I decided that right now I have a crush on my international books. I am a sucker for foreign covers! Since The Night Circus was one of my favorite books of 2011, I couldn't own enough copies. A friend from work bought me Nightshade while she was visiting family in Scotland. I love how haunting the UK cover of Unearthly is and I was lucky enough to have Cynthia sign it for me. I personally love the UK cover of Code Name Verity and I simply couldn't wait for it to be published in the US. Lastly, I ordered All I Ever Wanted from the Australian publisher because it sounded like a must read (which it was).
Well that is it for us. What is your most valuable book?

ReplyDeleteGreat to know why you love this book!
ReplyDeleteHere is my post!
that IS hard to choose. I have many books signed by authors, and they are my most valuable--like Lola and the Boy Next Door, Whirlwind, Everblue, and a couple romantic suspense novels by Cindy Gerard.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. International covers, or editions, are definitely special!
