"Waiting On" Wednesday #41

Waiting On" is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Carrie & I haven't done a WoW in a really long time so here are a some of the fall books we are "Waiting On".

Shannon's Picks~

BURNING BLUE by Paul Griffin
Release Date: October 2012 from Dial

Synopsis from Goodreads
When Nicole Castro, the most beautiful girl in her wealthy New Jersey high school, is splashed with acid on the left side of her perfect face, the whole world takes notice. But quiet loner Jay Nazarro does more than that—he decides to find out who did it. Jay understands how it feels to be treated like a freak, and he also has a secret: He's a brilliant hacker. But the deeper he digs, the more danger he's in—and the more he falls for Nicole. Too bad everyone is turning into a suspect, including Nicole herself.

*Its a mystery, its a contemp, its likely going to have some romance...sign me up! Oh and this cover is so eye catching.

EVEN AND ADAM by Katherine Applegate & Michael Grant
Release Date: October 2012 from Feiwel & Friends

Synopsis from Goodreads
Sixteen-year-old Evening Spiker lives an affluent life in San Francisco with her mother, Emma-Rose, a successful geneticist and owner of Spiker Biotech. Sure, Evening misses her father who died mysteriously, but she’s never really questioned it. Much like how she’s never stopped to think how off it is that she’s never been sick. That is, until she’s struck by a car and is exposed to extensive injuries. Injuries that seem to be healing faster than physically possible.

While recuperating in Spiker Biotech’s lush facilities, she meets Solo Plissken, a very attractive, if off-putting boy her age who spent his life at Spiker Biotech. Like Evening, he’s never questioned anything...until now. Solo drops hints to Evening that something isn’t right, and Emma-Rose may be behind it. Evening puts this out of her mind and begins her summer internship project: To simulate the creation of the perfect boy. With the help of Solo, Evening uncovers secrets so big they could change the world completely.

*I'm digging Sci-Fi right now and the premise for this one sounds amazing. Its also really rare to see a book written by a husband and wife team so I'm definitely curious about that too. Bonus: The cover is just too cool, I love it!

Carrie's Picks~

DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT by Laini Taylor
Release Date: November 6th, 2012 from Little Brown BFYR

Synopsis from Goodreads
In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed "Daughter of Smoke and Bone," Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.

*Daughter of Smoke and Bone ripped my heart out at the end so I need this book and I need it NOW!!!

RAGE WITHIN (Dark Inside #2) by Jeyn Roberts
Release Date: September 4th, 2012 from Simon & Schuster BFYR

Synopsis from Goodreads
Aries, Clementine, Mason and Michael have survived the first wave of the apocalypse that wiped out most of the world's population, and turned many of the rest into murderous Baggers. Now, they're hiding out in an abandoned house in Vancouver with a ragtag group of surviving teens, and trying to figure out their next move.

*I was thoroughly captivated with the first one. I felt hopeful with where it left things and then when I find out there was going to be another one it left me eager to see where the journey would lead them.
What are you all "Waiting On"?
