TGIF (4) Musical Stoires

Carrie and I haven't done a TGIF in a while but we really liked this week's topic.
TGIF is hosted by GReads

This Week's Question –

Musical Stoires: If you could read a book about any song, which song would you love to see written down in novel/story form?

SHANNON'S PICKS:
I had a hard time choosing just one song so I decided to pick a few, LOL.

Mat Kearney "Breathe In, Breathe Out" - The lyrics say everything I need them to say about how much two people can be there for each other and effect one another. Often when we think we're alone and no one cares, there is at least one person we can rely on. One of my all time favorite songs so I would gladly read any book that was inspired by it.

Lyrics:
Breathe in, breathe out
Tell me all of your doubt
Everybody bleeds this way
Just the same

Breathe in, breathe out
Move on and break down
If everyone goes away
I will stay

We push and pull
And I fall down sometimes
But I'm not letting go
You hold the other line

'Cause there is a light
In your eyes, in your eyes

Hold on and hold tight
From out of your sight
And everything keeps movin' on, movin' on

Hold on, hold tight
Make it through another night
And everyday, there comes a sun with the dawn

We push and pull
And I fall down sometimes
I'm not letting go
You hold the other line

'Cause there is a light
In your eyes, in your eyes
There is a light
In your eyes, in your eyes

Breathe in and breathe out [4x]

Look left, look right
To the moon in the night
And everything under the stars
Is in your arms

'Cause there is a light
In your eyes, in your eyes
And there is a lie
In your eyes, in your eyes

There is a light in your eyes, in your eyes [2x]

Ryan Star "Losing Your Memory" -Seriously this song makes me cry so hard. I would love to know what happen between these two people. Is it the worst break up ever, did one of them die or did she really lose her memory? I'd totally read this book, no question and like the song it would likely have me crying.

Katy Perry "Who Am I Living For?" -Love this Katy Perry song and its probably one that isn't as well known. I always think of some kick-ass heroine from a action novel whenever I hear it. I want to know more about this girl. Why is she being called to fight in this war? What kind of world does she live in? She seems pretty tough and not in need of anyone to take care of her. A great theme song and story for any independent young woman.

CARRIE'S PICKS:
I couldn't pick just one song either, so I picked two.

Cary Brothers "The Glass Parade" -I adore this song. The lyrics are honest and heartbreaking. I long to know their history…their past, present and future. What brought them to this point? I personally think of Gayle Forman when I imagine it in book form. Oh man, bring on the Kleenex.

Lyrics:

Just a voice inside you head
Whispering all the hope is dead
All the times you had to prove
That no one really loves you

I found you in a reflection

You didn't want me to see
I will give you all I have
Just look up, break down and believe

This is a glass parade

A fragile state
And I am trying not to break
And the stars are shining
The moon is right
And I would kill to be with you tonight

Wish you told me all the truth

So afraid to face an absolute
All the fights you had to lose
All the fear was put upon you

I found you when you were broken

Too many cracks of deceit
I will give you all I have
Just look up, break down and believe

This is a glass parade

A fragile state
And I am trying not to break
And the stars are shining
The moon is right
And I would kill to be with you tonight

This is the feeling, falling

So much I want to say
Show me the same emotion
Show me what's at stake
And how much can you take
When you realize your fate?

Hold me now as the car lights fade

And we are dancing in the glass parade
Dancing in the glass parade
We are dancing in the glass parade

It's just a voice inside your head

The Script "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" -It's just such a romantic song. I can totally picture this as a book. I would totaly read it! Curious to hear what lead to this moment and I'm dying to know if she sees him.

  1. WOW! I love both of your song choices. That's my favorite Mat Kearney song :) & the Ryan Star song is simply wonderful - so powerful (but it will always remind me of The Vampire Dairies! ha)
