Follow Friday - IRL Book Buddy

Follow Friday Question of the week: 
 

Do you have anyone that you can discuss books with IRL? Tell us about him/her.

 
I discuss many of the books I've read/or reading with my sister, Carrie. She lives across the country though, so most of our talks take place on the phone. Still its nice, because we use to have very different tastes in what we read but now it seems we're reading many of the same kinds of books and giving each other recommendations. Also, one of my best friends (Jessica) wasn't a big reader but somehow after starting my blog, I got her to read The Hunger Games trilogy and the entire Sookie Stackhouse series. Now we talk a lot about what we're reading and frequently go book shopping together.

  1. Hi Shannon! Old follower hopping over-- that's so great you have some close friends to talk books with. I only just got into YA fiction recently so I have been talking with the teen librarians at work (I'm a librarian btw) and they are always so excited to help me pick out the best in YA fiction :) My husband isn't into books, but he is nice and reads my book blog, so I have to give him credit there haha...

  3. Aww, sometimes I wish I had a sister. I'm an only child. Probably a lot of the reason I turned to reading growing up. I also don't have a lot of real life people who read or read similar things or care to talk about books...which is why I entered the book blogging world. :)

  4. That's great that you were able to get your friend to read. And, what a great series to start out with. Blogs are so great for that. I've been able to get a lot of my friends to read more too. :)

  7. I'm always looking for someone to discuss books with that I love. Lately, it's been my 17 year old step daughter. I've been reading lots of YA, so we're loving the same books.
