Tell us a bit about it...
I've talked several times about my love for all things British, especially when it comes to their TV shows. I find that I have a similar sense of humor and would probably fit in very well if I ever moved there. Anyways I want to say that I prefer the original UK Skins & Being Human to their US counterparts. I also really like Merlin, Misfits, and Torchwood, however my absolute favorite is DOCTOR WHO.
I have been watching Doctor Who since I was a kid, my mom got me hooked on it sometime around the 4th Doctor (we're now on the 11th). If you're not familiar with the show, its been airing since the 60's and focuses on a 900 year old time lord called THE DOCTOR. He travels with various companions in the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) and can regenerate himself when dying. Its all very Sci-Fi, but surprisingly dramatic and I LOVE IT!!! To drive home my point of how awesome the show is and how nerdy I am, please watch the videos below!

Great tv choice! I'm from the UK, and I love torchwood and misfits too (I watched the Doctor till he got Catherine Tate as a partner) Check mine out, if you want: http://thecaitfiles.blogspot.com/2011/02/follow-friday.html
ReplyDeleteDoctor Who! I love this show and I'm so happy March is almost here so the new season can start. 10 and 11 are my favs :) I started the series with #9 and watched all 4 online because I had started late (obviously). I don't know why I was so reluctant to try it, it was actually Colin Morgan from Merlin who finally got me to give it a go since he had guest starred in an episode with #10 xD. I was a Merlin fan before Doctor Who, I wonder if Merlin will ever come back :(
ReplyDeleteSorry for the ramblings! Have a great weekend!

I spent some time meandering over this on my blog but came up with one not-so-clear winner – Human Target.

I really like the British comedies that used to be on tv, like Coupling and My Family. But since they aren't on anymore, I talked about Sons of Anarchy in my post.

I've never really seen this show but I've always heard good things about it. Perhaps I should just take the plunge and add the first season to my queue, lol.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the original version of The Office though, but I must admit - I'm a fan of Steve Carell so I prefer the US version. :)
I love all your lovely British TV shows you've mentioned except Being Human which I haven't had the chance to see yet, but I just know I'm going to love it too when I do see it, haha. I love Dr. Who, I got into it a few years ago and I've loved it ever since, fantastic show. Now I suddenly have the urge to go re-watch my favorite Dr. Who episodes. :D
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fan of Dr. Who, but I have lots of friends and family who are. I didn't even realize it was still on. I'll have to try this again.
ReplyDeleteI love the UK version of Being Human! I haven't yet watched Doctor Who or Merlin, but I've heard great things about both, and they're on my to-watch list!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
